Virtual Hammer Textured Earring Demo

Join jeweler Elizabeth Tokoly for a live demonstration on how to make earrings. You will learn how to make a jump ring, forge, solder, and how to make findings for the earring. Finishing techniques will also be demonstrated. There will be an open forum for questions and answers on materials and techniques.

This demonstration will be conducted live on Zoom. Participants will receive an email from Peters Valley at least 48 hours prior that includes a link and a password. Only registered participants will be admitted.

The fidget ring- perfect to help calm nerves, stress, and anxiety. The fidget ring is constructed of several rings the center ring or rings are movable. The outer rings are soldered in place to hold the center ring. We will also incorporate learning to tube set round facet stones. The fidget ring will teach you techniques such as soldering, clean up, finishing, and tube stone setting.

Learn a foundation of skills to make countless designs and hone your expertise in jewelry and metalsmithing. Techniques such as piercing and sawing, soldering, surface embellishment with hammers, chasing tools, etching, cold connection, forging, and findings will be covered. Design and create projects including a cuff bracelet or pendant, textured rings from sheet and wire, spinner rings, forged bangles, roll printed cuffs with rivets, and roll printed earrings with wire wrapped briolettes.
